Small groups

We support our online classes with the digital learning platform maxbrain.com. This platform unites digital learning with interactive video conferencing technology. You use the platform during the class but also for self studies.

Currently we teach in 16 different languages:

Afrikaans, Albanian, Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), German, English, French, Greek, Croatian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Swiss German, Spanish and Turkish.

Our small group courses
- consist of minimum 3 and maximum 6 participants
- join an ongoing course at any time after the placement test
- at our location in Dübendorf/Wallisellen

Further goals are defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR). In class we stimulate effective and sustainable learning. The newly learned knowledge can be applied on new and unusual situations. Conscious and intensive practice is tied up with the current level of knowledge.

The language is an instrument to communicate. We prepare you to conversations in everyday life.

Learning method and forms of teaching

abc sprachen teaches with an activity-oriented approach and pursues a communicative learning approach. In class we encourage self-reliant and lasting learning.

Our class
- motivates for autonomous and sustainable learning
- you discuss with the teacher the amount of homework 
- motivates for self-study (online exercices, radio broadcast, watch movies, etc.)
- offers need-oriented tasks
- is diversified and based on your needs (simulation of a situation, games, self-study, project work, etc.)

Diploma

On completion of the class you receive a school certificate. This documents the level according to CEFR, how many classes you have studied and the duration of the class.

If you would like an internationally recognised certificate, we offer telc (The European Langauge Certificate) language certificates.

As a licenced telc exemination center
- we offer preparation classes for internationally recognised language certificates
- we carry out the exam at our location in Wallisellen/Dübendorf
- through us you get an official certificate that proofs your language competence
- we open for you doors at work, at university or in everyday life

Costs, duration and terms and conditions

In our school, you get more for your money
- one lesson takes 60 or 90 minutes
- the course materials are included in the price
- an individual organization of course lengh and frequency of classes
- we teach as well at your working place (within Zurich area free of charge, outside Zurich area a lump sum for the travel will be charged)
